About
Systems thinking, in service of your time.
Hi — I’m Jeff Martone.
By day I’m a business systems analyst in healthcare — I take messy, high-stakes operational data and turn it into something people can actually use. Daydream Built is where I bring that same systems thinking to small businesses.
For the past few years I’ve built and run the operational backbone of our own e-commerce brand, Daydream Made — connecting Shopify, Airtable, and a handful of automations into something the team runs without me hovering over it. That’s the whole job: making the back-end quietly do its work, so the people out front can do theirs.
I’m not a developer in the traditional sense — and that’s on purpose. I care less about clever code than about whether you can actually run the thing after I hand it over. The right tool is the one you’ll use. The best system is the one you forget is even there.
Outside of work, I’m a husband and the dad of an amazing daughter — the best reminder I have that the whole point of a well-run business is more time for the people who matter.
There’s an idea from healthcare that runs underneath all of it: everyone should work at the top of their license — spending their time on what they’re trained and meant to do, not the work someone (or something) else could handle.
For a small business owner, that’s the whole point. Your time belongs on running and growing your business — and the parts of it you genuinely enjoy — not on wrangling the tools behind it.
Daydream Built is for owners who are capable enough to have built something real, but want a smarter, simpler way to run it. The work is hands-on but never precious about it — every project is handed off documented, understandable, and yours. You should never feel stuck, and you should never need me just to keep your own business running.
